There is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow
St Patrick's Day Celebration

This year was held at Doogles lodge in Blantyre. The festival attracted over 300 people to a party that will be talked about from the Cape to Cairo for many moons to come. In Irish tradition there was plenty of Guinness, Irish food and of course musical entertainment which appealed to locals and tourists alike. Over K600,000 was raised and donated to Ubwino Wa Amayi.

We would like to sincerely thank the Irish Association, the committee and all the sponsors for their time, effort and fantastic prizes.

How are we helping a rural area in Malawi to achieve Millennium Goal 3; to 'Promote gender equality and empower women by eliminating gender disparity in education?'

. Through community sensitization
. Identifying role models
. Paying for girls school fees
. Fund-raising and awareness campaigns
. Evolving objectives and revising targets
. Monitoring and evaluation

We would like to do more to help make it normal for girls to further their education.

How can you help? Got a skill to donate?
